5D4N TORAJA INCL. MAKASSAR


Day 01
Upon arrival at Hasanudin Airport Makassar, set out on the picturesque drive to Toraja A approx. 7 hours drive by passing  the Buginese villages with their typical houses. Lunch is served at sea food restaurant in Pare-pare. In the afternoon stop on the Puncak Lakawan to enjoy the spectacular view. Late in the afternoon arrival in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Day 02
After breakfast, a full day exploring Toraja. First we will visit Lemo to see rows of Tau Tau statues and the hanging graves. Onwards to Suaya to discover the secret of the Baby Tree, Also visiting today Londa, to see an ancient grave where the deceased are entombed. At Kete Kesu one of the oldest Torajan villages we can see Tongkonan, and old rice barns, also famous for its traditional colorful woodcarving. Lunch in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Day 03
After breakfast we set out on a trip to Batutumonga enjoying superb views over Rantepao and surrounding valleys. Ideal for a walk along the rice fields and the daily Torajan live. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Afternoon also visiting Pallawa, Sa’dan, known as the weaving center of Rantepao.  Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

Day 04
After breakfast, drive back to Makassar. Lunch is served at a sea food restaurant in Pare-Pare. Late in the afternoon we arrive in Makassar. Onwards transfer directly to the Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 05
After breakfast, we will take you an a city tour around Makassar the former Ujung Pandang,  visiting Fort Rotterdam the old Dutch fortress and Paotere Anchorage the Makassarese and Buginese boat harbor. Afterwards, transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport for your flight to your next destination. End of Tour.

After breakfast, we set out on a full day trip to Batutumonga, enjoying superb views over Rantepao and surrounding valleys.  Ideal for a long walk along the rice fields and through the daily Torajan live. Lunch in local restaurant in Rantepao . Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Day 05
After breakfast, drive back to Makassar. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Pare-Pare. Then transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar to catch your flight for your next destination.

7D6N SOUTH SULAWESI ROUND TRIP


Day 01
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, set out for a scenic drive to Tanjung Bira. On the way we will visit Bissappu waterfall in Bantaeng. Lunch en route. The Buginese and Makassarese are the most skillful boat builders and sailors in Indonesia. At Tana Beru you can see Traditional Perahu construction. Dinner and overnight at simple accommodation.

Day 02
After breakfast, transfer to Sengkang.  Located in the center of the Former Buginese Kingdom. In Watampone we will visit the museum of Andi Mapasissi to see his collection from the former Bugis Royalties. Lunch en route. In the afternoon we will try to catch the beautiful views of the sunset over the Lake Tempe. We will cross the lake by motorized canoe and we will visit the fisherman families who do live on the floating villages. Overnight at guesthouse in Sengkang

Day 03
After breakfast, we will visit a traditional silk factory, where women handspin and weave silk cloth, than transfer to Tana Toraja via Palopo a small Muslim harbor port , lunch enroute. The Road from Palopo to Toraja gives us spectacular views. In the afternoon arrival in Rantepao.  Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

5D4N MAKASSAR SOJOURN


Day 01
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, meeting service. Afterwards, transfer directly to Makassar, the capital city of South Sulawesi. Before check in at the hotel, we will take you on a short city tour visiting Paotere Anchorage the Makassarese and Buginese boat harbor, Fort Rotterdam the Dutch fortress. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Makassar.

Day 02
After breakfast, we take you on a full day tour to Bantimurung and Leang Leang. Bantimurung is located 41 km north-east, in a steep limestone valley with tropical vegetation and a 15 meters-high waterfall. This valley is famous for its colorful butterflies. After lunch, visit Leang Leang, also known as the Pattea Cave, to see ancient hand prints and prehistoric cave paintings. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 03
After breakfast we drive 75 km east to Malino, a cool mountain resort 1050 meters above sea level, to visit the tombs of Sultan Hasanuddin and other Kings of Gowa. Lunch en route and a visit to the spectacular Takapala Waterfall, set in a landscape surrounded by rice paddies. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 04
Island Hopping tour. Set out early in the morning, after breakfast. First we visit Barrang Lompo Island, famous for their silversmiths, followed by the islands Bone Tambu, to explore a traditional fishing village, then to Samalona for a refreshing or to simply laze on the beach. Return in the afternoon (about 14h00). Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 05
After breakfast, transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar to catch your flight for your next destination.
